Hot Water Electric

The normal hot water electric power source for your system could come in many different methods and types. There are solar, tankless, point of use, and conventional water heaters.

The electric tankless water heater is an energy efficient means to supply your needs. Because of this there is a $1500 federal tax deduction on the purchase and installation on one of these units. These units can supply 2 to 5 gallons of hot water every minute. The brands that are available from John C. Flood, Inc are Renai, Takagi, Bosch, and Noritz.

Another type of hot water heater that qualifies for the federal tax deduction is the solar hot water heater. These energy efficient units harness the power of the sun that supply you with a clean, energy efficient means to have your hot water supplied without any additional cost to your energy bill. The manufacturers of these units available from John C. Flood, Inc are Bradford White, A. O. Smith, Ruud, Rheem, and State.

If your need for hot water is in an isolated area of your house or garage, then a point of use hot water heater may fit your needs. These little electrical units can supply a continuous flow of hot water where you need it. These units can be placed inside a shower stall or next to the washing machine. They only come on when turned on. There is no waste and the outlet is directly linked to the dispensing head or inlet to your unit that needs hot water. John C. Flood, Inc stocks and installs these units from several manufacturers including ISE, Powerstar, Ariston, Rheem, and Ruud.

Discounts that are available are from $50 off on any water heater replacement, and a $100 discount for the installation of any new tankless water heater. Both of these discounts are valid until December 30, 2010.

Everyone uses hot water; electric power is an efficient means for supplying the energy needs in many different fashions to fit your particular needs.

Honeywell HVAC

A Honeywell HVAC controller has a deep history in America reaching back to 1904. In that year, Mark Honeywell perfected a heat generator to sell and install at his plumbing and heating business. In 1906, he specialized in hot water heat generators and formed the company Honeywell Heating Specialty Co.

From that time all the way up to the present day, this company became involved in mergers. The direction of the company changed from heating units to being a specialist on system controls and sensors.

The Excel 5000 DDC, controls and totally automates a building’s HVAC system. This is a standalone unit or can be used in a dial up mode or as part of a network. With this as your control unit you no longer need to find the sensor, just open it up on your computer with CARE software and set the parameters you wish to live in.

For home use, there are wireless thermostats. This gives the homeowner the choice of where they wish to locate the temperature control unit. This can be anywhere you wish it to be, either on a wall or in a cupboard. There are no longer any limitations.

For maximum control and freedom, there are units that have remote controls. This allows access to your HVAC system from any room at any time. The Honeywell’s Vision Pro IAQ Total Home comfort System is the control unit that controls the HVAC system and the indoor air quality system all in one. This all in one unit reduces the need for separate units for controlling your climate.

With Honeywell HVAC, innovation is part of the service they provide. Find out your available options from your local Honeywell dealer at John C. Flood, Inc.

Reduce Airborne Contaminants in Your Home

This is the time of year that you are cooped up inside more than out and you want the cleanest air possible for your family.  There have been great advances in technology and equipment that may be included in your home heating and air-conditioning system that will reduce the airborne contaminants in your home.

John C. Flood, Inc. has released the following letter that outlines the Guardian Air ™ technology.

Guardian Air TM Technology

Reduce Airborne Contaminants in Your Home – INCLUDING H1N1!

Leading Technology Approved by the USDA, FSIS and FDA

In recent independent testing at Kansas State University, Guardian Air ™ technology was shown to render the H1N1 Swine Flu virus 99+% inactive. Guardian’s HVAC PHI and REME cells are designed to be installed within heating and air conditioning ductwork and distribute charged Hydro-Peroxides (see sidebar) throughout the conditioned space for proactive protection from bacteria and virus! This system has already been installed in government buildings, hospitals, schools, cruise ships, hotels, commercial buildings and residences.

Here are other test results to consider:

* 78% of microbes in a human sneeze are killed at 3 feet

* 97% reduction of airborne bacteria

* 99% reductions of E-Coli, Strep, Listeria and Bird Flu

* 85% reduction of odors

* 97% reduction of airborne mold

* 98% food surface microbial reduction

Guardian Air doesn’t need the contaminants to travel to the air handler in your HVAC system for treatment or filtration – it sends aggressive ionized oxidants into the room to destroy the pollutants at the source – whether they are in the air or on surfaces!

John C Flood is a select provider of Guardian Air ™ technology and has these tough to find units in stock. The total cost – including the Guardian Air ™ PHI Cell and complete installation is $995. Get the peace of mind from knowing you are protecting your family from harmful contaminants in your home. Call 703-914-1800 today to schedule your installation. Supplies are limited – call today!

Tankless Water Heaters: Never Run Out of Hot Water Again

For many years the choice you had for water heaters was to decide on how large of a holding tank you would need.  Now you have another choice and when you select this method of water heating you will save money and qualify for a federal tax credit.

Plumbing and heating technology have advanced and we now have Tankless Water Heaters.  No more will you be heating a large volume of water each time the heating cycle kicks in.

When you think of it with the old style of hot water tank, you would be heating up a large reserve that would be available for the next time a batch of hot water was needed for a bath or laundry.

That large tank of water would sit there all day and slowly it would cool off.  When it got down to the point that the thermostat would kick in it would heat the tank back up to your high temp setting and then the cycle would start all over again.

So why use energy to heat up water that you do not use?  A tankless heater is so efficient it only uses power or fuel on demand.  When you turn on a hot water faucet the heating method kicks right in so fast that you have a nice supply of perfect temperature water for as long as you need it.

Shut off the faucet and the heater shuts off.  No longer are you paying the natural gas company or the power company to heat up a big tank of hot water to only have it sit there and cool off and heat up again.

It just makes perfect sense to use only the energy you need, and not to be wasteful.  The brands of tankless systems that the John C. Flood, Inc. company carry are; Renai, Takagi, Bosch and Noritz.  Contact a Flood team member now to see how you can get $200 off from one of these new installations until December 31, 2009.  Ask them about how to apply for the tax credit also.
