With DC Plumbing and Heating service contractors, certain expectations are in the minds of homeowners when they make the call. Fast reliable service from a knowledgeable repair technician is at the top of the list.

In the metro DC area, there are many different home repair service providers. What differentiates them is the speed in which they can assist homeowners in their time of need, their years of experience, and the cost they charge to provide this service.

Today, there are many radio-dispatched HVAC services technicians available who can be alerted to an emergency need by a home owner. Many of these service technicians are on standby 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Though there is a need to have speedy service, it must also be reliable. A homeowner has no desire to have a technician make a repair just to have it fail again in a short time, because the true nature of the problem was not properly diagnosed and corrected.

This is when the experience of the technician and the longevity of the company they work for are important. Companies that have been in business for 75 to 100 years have the necessary track record of providing top-quality service to their customers.

The last ingredient in a HVAC service call is the price. The need for a repair technician does not always fall between the hours of 9 to 5. While there are many service calls that can wait for regular working hours, some are more immediate. Many service providers, though, add an additional charge for this convenience.

Fortunately, this does not include all of the DC Plumbing and Heating service providers. Not only do some do a great job at any hour of the day, but they do not charge extra. These are the contractors that care about their customers.

You will do no better than to contact John C. Flood, Inc. Over 100 years of quality service to Washington, DC , Virginia and Maryland. Your plumbing, heating, electrical and air conditioning experts on call 24/7.

With 24 Hour Air Conditioning repair in Maryland available to the public, more people are staying comfortable in the heat waves that are hitting the east coast. This type of service is not offered by every home appliance repair shop, though it is still available from some.

The companies that offer this type of service have generally been in business for a long time. Because of their experience in this specific field of service to the public, they have the knowledge of what the public needs. Unfortunately for the home owners, the greatest amount of stress and strain is applied to a home AC unit when the heat is at or above 100F.

This added stress has been known to cause the weakest link or component in an AC unit to become faulty. This will bring the entire system to a screeching halt. Like most things mechanical, they do not have a time clock and do not care if it is 1 am or 3 pm. They just last until the weak link gives out.

Because of this, there is one home repair Air Conditioning services company, John C. Flood, Inc., that have reliable professionals on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. These repair technicians are standing by at home with their vans fully stocked with the most commonly used items that are in need of replacement. They are also radio dispatched, so communication with them is possible every hour of the day and night.

This is one of the services that sets this company above others in this needed field of service. Another positive factor is when there is no additional charge for a 24 Hour Air Conditioning repair in Maryland. Not every company can say that, but there is at least one ready to help a customer in their time of need that does not charge extra for this.

Click this link to contact: John C. Flood Inc. They are there to help!

The air conditioning service that is in most homes and businesses serves more purposes than just keeping the occupants comfortable when the outside temperature rises. The comfort of the people is important, but so is their health. The cooler air of the air conditioner makes it possible to reduce the humidity level of the air.

This is one of the physical properties of air, the warmer the temperature, the greater the air’s capacity to suspended moisture in a gaseous form. When the air is cooled, the humidity level drops. The air is mostly condensed or removed from the air at the evaporator of the air conditioning unit.

Most people are unaware of this until a problem occurs. The typical problem is when a clog is formed in the drain line from the evaporator. When this occurs in a unit that is in the basement, there is water on the floor. For window air conditioners, this is when water is dripping from the window seal and leaving a deposit on the floor. The most common occurrence of this is in an automobile. The passenger’s floor board in the front becomes damp.

The draining of the water is essential to the effectiveness of the air conditioner. This way, moisture is removed from the air and the unit itself does not have to work so hard. With a lower moisture level in the air, the growth of molds and bacteria is hindered. This leads to a better quality of air for the occupants to breath.

This is just one of the advantages of having an air conditioning service company such as John C. Flood, Inc inspect your unit on an annual basis. Not only will your air conditioning unit last longer, but you will breath easier.

The Guardian HVAC products were developed to cure the ailments of a closed off environment of a building which are sometimes referred to as sick building syndrome. These products are environmentally friendly components that help make the air in the buildings where they are installed to be cleaner and healthier for the occupants to breath.

The Guardian Reflective Electro-Magnetic Energy (REME) 305 is a unit that creates ionized hydrogen peroxides. Just like on a person’s skin, this chemical kills bacteria and molds on contact when it encounters them in the HVAC duct work of the facility where they are installed. It does require an electrical supply of 110 volts, but it is not dependent on the blower fan running to disperse the cleaning plasma.

This cell is environmentally friendly and only uses oxygen and water so no toxic residue is left behind. The cell has no moving parts that can break down but will constantly and continuously propel purifying plasma through your system. The cell itself produces 2 cubic feet per minute of this plasma 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Once installed and in operational mode, the concentration of your system of this plasma will be 0.01 ppms.

Another product by Guardian for purifying the air in your facility is the Guardian Air HVAC PHI Cell. This delivers work similar to the REME, by producing ionized oxygen particles to purify the air.

With both units, the plasma that is produced will revert back to hydrogen and oxygen once the oxidation process is finished and the odors, VOC’s, bacteria’s, and molds are eliminated. This is how the Guardian HVAC products are used to cure sick building syndrome.

The Rheem Dealer in Washington DC is there to assist home owners with their hot water needs. Rheem is the most trusted name in hot water and water products in America. They have been producing hot water appliances since the mid 1920’s when the brothers Richard and Donald Rheem purchased their first galvanizing plant in San Francisco. Since this time they have continued to grow into a leading global producer of heating, air conditioning and water heating products.

Because of their large size, Rheem products and the parts to keep them functioning are in most metropolitan areas across the country. No matter what you need, it is readily available their network of warehouses and dealers ready to serve your needs.

When it comes to water heaters there are many choices for the home owner to decide on. One of the basic decisions is do you need a gas or electric heater. With the gas water heaters there is the forced vent and natural vent. This way they can accommodate both old and new buildings.

The family of products produced by this company and supported by their dealers are Raypak, Protech, Richmond, Ruud, Prostock and of course Rheem. The customer support is priority one from this corporation which is then passed down to the customer thru their dealers. There is also technical assistance from the factories to those dealers that install and maintain the Rheem family of appliances.

Because quality matters with your hot water supply for your home, place a call to the Rheem Dealer in Washington DC, John C. Flood, Inc. They are the professionals a home owner can count on.

The different heat pump systems for DC area are a choice of two distinct types. There is the geothermal heat pump, and the conventional heat pump.

The geothermal heat pump is sometimes called the ground source heat pump. This is a system that takes advantage of the moderate and consistent temperature that is present in the ground that increases the efficiency of the unit while reducing the energy consumption.

The design of this type of system is to transfer heat from a warmer place to a cooler place that is opposite of the flow nature intends. This way, the cooler temperatures underground during the summer can help cool your home and the warmer temperatures underground of the winter can help heat your home.

This type of system has more start up cost but is generally recoverable in 3 to 10 years due to reduced energy costs. The loop part of the system that is placed underground has a life expectancy of 50 years. This is twice the average life expectancy of the above ground unit.

The conventional heat pump works on the same principal of the geothermal heat pump without the additional aid of the ground looping system. This system transfers heat by mechanical means. This system uses the physical properties of the evaporating and condensing of fluids and their effect on heat transfer.

The average heat pump from Carrier and Bryant can save a home owner up to 20% to 40% on their energy bill. The Energy Star heat pumps can save an additional 8%. This is because the average heat pump can provide up to 4 times the amount of heat than the energy they consume.

All three of these types of units are available from John C. Flood, Inc. along with the proper paperwork to help you file for the $1500 tax credit that comes with installing heat pump systems. For DC area residents, there is no better place with more experience when you are in need of home repairs.

The evolution of heating and air conditioning systems for use in modern society has come a long way since the simple days of fire places and open windows. The solutions to heating and cooling a structure can have many different types of solutions. Each with their advantages and cost associated with them.

In this evolution, coal burning furnaces replaced the fire place. These were in turn replaced by oil burning furnaces, then eventually by the natural gas burning furnaces. Along the way, the air conditioner was developed and incorporated into the home HVAC unit.

The theory behind the principles involved with the AC unit is to take the heat from the inside and transport it outside. This theory and its principles have lead to the development of the heat pump. Unlike a conventional furnace that uses an energy source to create heat, the heat pumps transport heat for the outside of a structure into the interior.

This transfer of heat became more efficient when the geothermal units were developed. They take the heat from underground in the winter time and transport it into the interior of the structure in the most fuel and cost efficient manner in use today.

This same principle is used in the summer months to take the cooler temperatures from underground and transport them into the interior of the structure.

To assist in making the inside environment more comfortable, the humidifiers and dehumidifiers were developed to work in unison with the HVAC system. The right moisture level in the air not only makes it more comfortable for the occupants, but puts less stress on the heating and air conditioning systems themselves.

The line of Bryant Air Conditioning & Heating Systems includes many different kinds of products to fit their customers’ needs. This includes furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, geothermal heat pumps and central air conditioning units. Each one has the specific purpose of making the inside of your home a comfortable place to be.

Bryant is a company that believes the customer comes first. This is why they have one on the largest lines of system for controlling the atmosphere in your home available on the market place. Some of the older homes still have gas burning boilers as the source of heat during the winter months. This type of unit is preferred by some of the older Americans because it is what they are use to. Other times these units are kept because of the expense to convert it to a newer technology is too great.

The reason a customer desires a particular style or type of HVAC system is of their own choosing. Bryant does not discourage or discriminate against any of them. They understand a personal preference is an individual’s right and they respect this.

If a customer wishes to learn about the latest advances in HVAC systems that are available, a local Bryant dealer can assist win this area also. An example of this is with the energy efficient geothermal heat pumps that not only cost less to run, but come with a tax credit from the US Government.

They also offer accessories to a HVAC that can help cut your energy cost. This includes humidifiers and zone controlling thermostats. The humidifiers help keep the heat in the air during the winter for a longer time that is less taxing on the heating unit. By also only heating areas of the home that are occupied, less energy is wasted producing the necessary heat to make you feel comfortable which is what a zone controller does.

These reasons are just a few advantages of choosing one of the Bryant Air Conditioning & Heating Systems that are available from your local Bryant dealer. John C. Flood, Inc.

The modern home cooling system has seen many changes over the years. It has been in constant development because of the desire to live and work in a more comfortable setting than what Mother Nature provides. Since the weather surrounding most of us is in a constant flux, most people desire to have a constant temperature and humidity so they feel more comfortable.

The first cooling mechanism was the window. This allowed for a breeze of fresh air to flow into a structure. Most people are well aware that heating a structure has long been a part of homes in the upper northern hemisphere due to the cold. What most are not aware of is that the old boilers and radiator systems were, in some instances, also a cooling mechanism.

This was accomplished with the installation of a cooling compressor down in the basement next to the boiler. This way, hot water could pass through the radiators during the colder months, and chilled water in the hotter summer months. This was economically feasible since it only required the use of one set of piping, which was already present in a building, for heating purposes.

Soon, better HVAC system were developed that included oil and gas-burning furnaces, along with electric-powered air conditioning units. In time, this type of system was improved upon with the introduction of the geothermal heat pump.

The geothermal heat pumps take the heat and the cooling properties of the temperature difference, between what is above ground and that of below the ground, and transports the desired property into the home so a comfort level can be attained.

As with most things, the home cooling system will be improved upon again in the future but at the present time, the most cost and energy efficient system that is available is the geothermal heat pump.
