The evolution of heating and air conditioning systems for use in modern society has come a long way since the simple days of fire places and open windows. The solutions to heating and cooling a structure can have many different types of solutions. Each with their advantages and cost associated with them.

In this evolution, coal burning furnaces replaced the fire place. These were in turn replaced by oil burning furnaces, then eventually by the natural gas burning furnaces. Along the way, the air conditioner was developed and incorporated into the home HVAC unit.

The theory behind the principles involved with the AC unit is to take the heat from the inside and transport it outside. This theory and its principles have lead to the development of the heat pump. Unlike a conventional furnace that uses an energy source to create heat, the heat pumps transport heat for the outside of a structure into the interior.

This transfer of heat became more efficient when the geothermal units were developed. They take the heat from underground in the winter time and transport it into the interior of the structure in the most fuel and cost efficient manner in use today.

This same principle is used in the summer months to take the cooler temperatures from underground and transport them into the interior of the structure.

To assist in making the inside environment more comfortable, the humidifiers and dehumidifiers were developed to work in unison with the HVAC system. The right moisture level in the air not only makes it more comfortable for the occupants, but puts less stress on the heating and air conditioning systems themselves.

The line of Bryant Air Conditioning & Heating Systems includes many different kinds of products to fit their customers’ needs. This includes furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, geothermal heat pumps and central air conditioning units. Each one has the specific purpose of making the inside of your home a comfortable place to be.

Bryant is a company that believes the customer comes first. This is why they have one on the largest lines of system for controlling the atmosphere in your home available on the market place. Some of the older homes still have gas burning boilers as the source of heat during the winter months. This type of unit is preferred by some of the older Americans because it is what they are use to. Other times these units are kept because of the expense to convert it to a newer technology is too great.

The reason a customer desires a particular style or type of HVAC system is of their own choosing. Bryant does not discourage or discriminate against any of them. They understand a personal preference is an individual’s right and they respect this.

If a customer wishes to learn about the latest advances in HVAC systems that are available, a local Bryant dealer can assist win this area also. An example of this is with the energy efficient geothermal heat pumps that not only cost less to run, but come with a tax credit from the US Government.

They also offer accessories to a HVAC that can help cut your energy cost. This includes humidifiers and zone controlling thermostats. The humidifiers help keep the heat in the air during the winter for a longer time that is less taxing on the heating unit. By also only heating areas of the home that are occupied, less energy is wasted producing the necessary heat to make you feel comfortable which is what a zone controller does.

These reasons are just a few advantages of choosing one of the Bryant Air Conditioning & Heating Systems that are available from your local Bryant dealer. John C. Flood, Inc.

In Washington DC, HVAC service is not a problem. There are many establishments that say they can provide what you need at a low cost, but reality is sometimes different than what is promised.

Washington, DC is an area of the country that was settled over 200 years ago. Just over 110 years ago, most homes were being built with the early forms of HVAC system for heating. This evolution of methods and devices that have been used over the years to keep the inhabitants of the home comfortable has been constantly changing and improving.

Very few establishments in the home repair business have been around for this entire time. For a business to last in the service industry for over 100 years, they must be committed to quality service at a reasonable price. Having trained professionals that not only knows the older homes and their equipment, but the newest and latest models as well are not an accident. This takes a solid business plan with a leader that has a vision to their utmost to be the number one choice of their customers.

A business like this can be found at John C. Flood, Inc. Their aim is to be your number one stop shop for worry-free comfort and convenience when you are in need of HVAC repairs around your home. To provide this service, this company has computerized dispatch trucks loaded with the right supplies and a trained professional. To help keep the cost down, they have one flat rate for their service. This is the same rate 24/7 day and night.

In Washington DC, HVAC service professionals can be found with the company that has maintained a high level of quality service for over 100 years. This is John C. Flood, Inc.

Nearly every home has a need for HVAC in DC. With spring time here, it’s time for spring cleaning. Your HVAC system needs to be included in this, after the long winter months of being closed off to the outside world.

The filters need to be cleaned or replaced. The fans may need to be oiled or checked. If a dog or other hairy pet lived most of the winter inside with the rest of your family, the duct system may have dander buildup which could contain mold and allergy causing spores. The cleaner the air inside your house is, the better you will feel.

Another part of this spring check up should include a systems check on the air conditioner. It has not been called upon for months since the temperature outside did not warrant its use. But in just a few months time, a heat wave from the south will arrive, like it does every year. Getting you home and all of its systems ready for the changing of the seasons is best done before it is needed. The costs are lower now and it can be scheduled at your convenience.

Being properly prepared is more than just the motto of the Boy Scouts, it is the best way to stay comfortable in your home no matter what the conditions are outside. There is a home service company that has been around and conducting business in the Washington, DC area for over 100 years. The name is John C. Flood, Inc. They have a biannual service contract to help keep your system healthy and operating at its peak capacity. Until April 31, 2010, this service plan is discounted by $20 to assist those home owners that wish to be prepared for the coming summer.
The heart of every home’s environment is its HVAC. In DC, residents have been able to trust John C. Flood, Inc. for over 100 years to keep their systems healthy.

When residences are looking for a Heating and Ventilating Contractor Washington, DC, there are many choices with over 48,500 hits in the search engine from Google. If you have never had a need for repairs, then this could be a daunting situation.

When facing this dilemma, there are certain questions you need to answer to help with your choice. The reputation of a contractor is a good place to start, but with so many to choose from, the best contractor may be overlooked. There is one primary indicator that points to an excellent contractor that not only will have a good reputation but a history of reliable and trustworthy service to their clients. This is length of time in the business.

The more years a contractor has been in business will bring many benefits to their clients. Not only does this include the experience of the work, but the knowledge of what works best for that particular area of the country from which the contractor conducts their business. This approach to choosing a contractor for repairs or installation of a new HVAC system will eliminate all of the contractors that could possibly be scam artists or the well known fly-by-night contractors. These are the ones that accept the job and payment then disappear without making any repairs.

Contractors that have been in business for more than 20 years are a good place to start. The longer the contractor has been in business, the better they are at fulfilling the needs of their clients. With many homes in the DC area being older than 100 years, a contractor with over 100 years experience would be the ideal choice. This opens up the possibility that they have been to your home before and know your system or even could have installed it.

This time of service is an important factor when deciding on a Heating and Ventilating Contractor Washington, DC. The longer they have been in business equals the more satisfied and happier customers they will have.

The airborne bacteria in air conditioners are the down side to being comfortable during the hot summer months. In years past, people were not concerned with this or were unaware of their presence.

But now, with more people having allergies and sensitivity to airborne bacteria and microbes, more people are becoming aware of the source of this contamination.

Mold and certain bacteria like moist, cool places to multiply. This can be found at the evaporator in every air conditioning system. The evaporator is the coils that the air is passed over and the heat is drawn out of the air, thus cooling the air. When air is cooled, its ability to hold moisture is reduced. When this occurs, condensation develops in the area of the evaporator. This is why every AC unit has a drip pan in this area to collect the condensation.

The mold and bacteria can then spread throughout the house when this cool air, which is reduced in moisture but filled with spores, travels through the duct work and into different rooms of your house unfiltered. Every HVAC system has a filter on the return air before it is cooled, but few have a filter after the cooling process occurs.

The different methods to purify this air and get rid of the unwanted bacterium and mold spores are with HEPA filters, ultraviolet germicidal irradiation, activated carbon filters, photocatalytic oxidation process, ionizer purifiers, and ozone generators to name a few. Each one of these attacks the bacterium and mold differently, but with the same ending result. That is with their elimination from the air you breathe.

If you are concerned with the airborne bacteria in air conditioner, consult with the experts at John C. Flood, Inc. for practical solutions for your home or office.

This Guardian Air HVAC Review will explain the advantages of this advanced unit. This unit, like all HVAC devices cool and heat the place where they are installed but this unit is so much more.

This system was created and is manufactured by the RGF Environmental Group that has been winning awards for their innovative pollution control solutions since 1985. Part of this forward-thinking approach to building ventilation systems is the variable fan speed control units for complete area coverage, and their air treatment and purification systems.

One of the most requested of these devices is the Guardian Air RGF PHI-Cell Technology. This little device is your best weapon against “sick building syndrome”. This unit works as part of your HVAC system that removes odors, air born pollutants, VOC’s or volatile organic compounds, smoke, all types of molds, disease causing bacteria, and viruses.

This device is easily mounted in the air ducts of your HVAC system and is activated by the cycling of your heating and cooling system. The cell itself is an advanced oxidation processes that produces hydro peroxides, ozonide ions, super oxide ions, UV light rays, and hydroxide ions. The byproducts of this process, after the oxidization process is completed, are oxygen and hydrogen.

This process destroys over 99% of the air borne pollutants that are in every household and building in America. In addition, one of the advanced properties is that is also kills contaminants that are on the surfaces of your ventilation duct work.

This system is approved by the USDA, FDA, and FSIS. If you or someone in your household has allergies or you just wish to breathe cleaner air, then check out a Guardian Air HVAC . Review the information and see why this system’s benefits are for you.

A Honeywell HVAC controller has a deep history in America reaching back to 1904. In that year, Mark Honeywell perfected a heat generator to sell and install at his plumbing and heating business. In 1906, he specialized in hot water heat generators and formed the company Honeywell Heating Specialty Co.

From that time all the way up to the present day, this company became involved in mergers. The direction of the company changed from heating units to being a specialist on system controls and sensors.

The Excel 5000 DDC, controls and totally automates a building’s HVAC system. This is a standalone unit or can be used in a dial up mode or as part of a network. With this as your control unit you no longer need to find the sensor, just open it up on your computer with CARE software and set the parameters you wish to live in.

For home use, there are wireless thermostats. This gives the homeowner the choice of where they wish to locate the temperature control unit. This can be anywhere you wish it to be, either on a wall or in a cupboard. There are no longer any limitations.

For maximum control and freedom, there are units that have remote controls. This allows access to your HVAC system from any room at any time. The Honeywell’s Vision Pro IAQ Total Home comfort System is the control unit that controls the HVAC system and the indoor air quality system all in one. This all in one unit reduces the need for separate units for controlling your climate.

With Honeywell HVAC, innovation is part of the service they provide. Find out your available options from your local Honeywell dealer at John C. Flood, Inc.

An HVAC furnace is the heart and soul of controlling the environmental conditions inside your home. This unit does so much more than just heat the place up, it also cools it down when called upon and keeps the moisture level at the appropriate percentage.

Another little thought about its use is its ability to improve the quality of the air itself. John C. Flood, Inc. not only can make you feel comfortable inside your home by installing and maintaining your HVAC system but also improves the quality of the air you breathe for a longer and healthier life of all its occupants.

This is done with the Guardian HVAC PHI and REME cells that are located within your ventilation system. By keeping your air quality free of mold, mildew, allergy-causing airborne particles, and even the H1N1 virus, your family will possibly have fewer health problems.

To help ensure your unit is working at peak efficiency, a professional from John C. Flood, Inc. can carry out a bi-annual inspection on your system. This is part of their Energy Management Plan (EMP). This will make sure every part of the system is in working order.

This includes the attic ventilation system, the duct work, the air conditioning unit, humidifier and dehumidifier, and the heating furnace. Once every component is inspected and tested, the control unit is tested and you are consulted to how you wish to have it programmed.

If any problem is found, these professionals are trained on every aspect of your system to see that the repairs and unit installations are done right the first time.

The service technicians from John C. Flood know your HVAC furnace and the adjoining systems. Make sure you ask about their Energy Management Plan (EMP) to save you money all year around.

Schedule an appointment via the internet and save $10.00.

This is the time of year that you are cooped up inside more than out and you want the cleanest air possible for your family. There have been great advances in technology and equipment that may be included in your home heating and air-conditioning system that will reduce the airborne contaminants in your home.

John C. Flood, Inc. has released the following letter that outlines the Guardian Air ™ technology.

Reduce Airborne Contaminants in Your Home – INCLUDING H1N1!

Leading Technology Approved by the USDA, FSIS and FDA

In recent independent testing at Kansas State University, Guardian Air ™ technology was shown to render the H1N1 Swine Flu virus 99+% inactive. Guardian’s HVAC PHI and REME cells are designed to be installed within heating and air conditioning ductwork and distribute charged Hydro-Peroxides (see sidebar) throughout the conditioned space for proactive protection from bacteria and virus! This system has already been installed in government buildings, hospitals, schools, cruise ships, hotels, commercial buildings and residences.

Here are other test results to consider:

* 78% of microbes in a human sneeze are killed at 3 feet

* 97% reduction of airborne bacteria

* 99% reductions of E-Coli, Strep, Listeria and Bird Flu

* 85% reduction of odors

* 97% reduction of airborne mold

* 98% food surface microbial reduction

Guardian Air doesn’t need the contaminants to travel to the air handler in your HVAC system for treatment or filtration – it sends aggressive ionized oxidants into the room to destroy the pollutants at the source – whether they are in the air or on surfaces!

John C Flood is a select provider of Guardian Air ™ technology and has these tough to find units in stock. The total cost – including the Guardian Air ™ PHI Cell and complete installation is $995. Get the peace of mind from knowing you are protecting your family from harmful contaminants in your home. Call 703-914-1800 today to schedule your installation. Supplies are limited – call today!
